Costume and Make-Up Manager
 
The Costume and Make-Up Manager is responsible for organizing all costume and make-up aspects of a production.
 
Schedule

  • Coordinate with Director or Costume Designer (when applicable) to implement design
  • Creates implementation schedule

Rehearsal Period


  • Using Call Sheet and working with Director and/or Costume Designer, create make-up and costume plot if not renting costumes
  •  
    Take measurements of cast
  • Label Costume Racks and Store in Dressing Rooms
  • Take inventory of make-up, working with the Director in purchasing supplies
  • Pulls costumes from storage that meet the production
  • Purchase, borrow, or arrange for Cast to bring in needed costumes and accessories
  • Manage the unpacking and storage of costumes if rented
  • Record problems or damage of costumes received
  • Maintain inventory of all required costumes
  • Purchase or resupply emergency sewing kit

 

Technical and Dress Rehearsals


  • Manage costume fittings for each actor
  • Instruct Actors in storage and repacking of costumes (if rented
  • Record problems with costumes and make-up, and come up with solutions to issues
  • Maintain costumes and make-up
  • Assist actors in costume and make-up changes, record in Prompt Book
  • Manage any Costume and Make-UP Crew
  • Manage make-up application for each actor
  • Instruct actors in storage application, cleaning and repacking of make-up

Performances

  • Maintain costumes through the run of the show
  • Ensure that all borrowed or rented costumes are packed and returned, and that AHSTS costumes are stored after the run.
  • Maintain make-up through the run of the show
  • Ensure that all make-up is packed and stored after the run
