AHSTS Production Staff 
 
When interviewing or applying for production staff positions, it's often helpful
to know what precisely we mean by a given title. Therefore, we present the
following list of production staff positions and the duties they usually fulfill. Note that every show is a different, and sometimes part of one person's job is taken up by someone else or is divided based on the work-load. You can click on a title for more details.


An Assistant Director is there to provide support to the Director and the Company, to do research, as well as run scenes and lines with actors when the Director is unable or unavailable.


The Assistant Stage Manager Properties works through all phases of the
production to encourage the best from the cast, oversees props, and helps manage back-stage.
 

The Box Office Manager is responsible for all ticket sales.


The Concessions Manager is responsible for insuring refreshments are available
to our patrons before show time, during intermission, and after the show is
finished.
 

The Costume Manager is responsible for organizing all costume and make-up aspects of a production.
 

The Deputy Stage Manager works through all phases of the production to encourage
the best from the cast, always being able to fill in for the Stage Manager when needed.
 

The House Manager is responsible for running the Front of House during a performance. He/she is in charge of Ushers and of maintaining order and quiet in
the lobby.
 
Light Board Operator

The Light Board Operator is responsible for running the lighting of a production.
 
Master Electrician

The Master Electrician is responsible for all technical aspects of the lighting of a production.

Poster Designer

The Poster Designer works with the Director in creating a poster for the production. He/she then arranges with the Publicity Manager for reproduction of the posters and with the Sign Board Artist in the recreation of the poster on the Sign Board.
 
Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator is responsible for gathering accurate information for the program.

Publicity Manager

The Publicity Manager works through all phases of the production to publicize
the production.
 
Scenic Artist

The Scenic Artist is responsible for all painting and décor of a set.

Sound Board Operator

The Sound Board Operator is responsible for running the sound of a production.
 
Spot Light Operator 

The Spot Light Operator is responsible for running the spot light during a
production
 

The Stage Manager works through all phases of the production to encourage the
best from the cast.
 
Usher

The Usher is responsible for working with the House Manager in the Front of
House during a performance, maintaining order and helping patrons.
